Sephora Accelerate: Indē Wild
The Story
The third brand selected by Sephora’s Accelerate program is Indē Wild, a wellness company rooted in simplicity and Indian Ayurvedic techniques. The brand was founded by Diipa Büller-Khosla, a woman born and raised in India who admired her dermatologist and Ayurvedic practicing mother. When she realized she wanted to bring her upbringing to the global skincare market, Büller-Khosla incorporated her mother’s teachings into her trademarked Ayurvedistry, combining Ayurveda with chemistry to create powerful products.
Still, Büller-Khosla knew the market would be saturated and wanted to consult her community to figure out what they needed, not what they wanted. With their suggestions, Büller-Khosla developed her product line, swearing to always be 100% upfront with her customers and avoid using filters or Photoshop on promotional photos.
The Products
Champi Hair Oil
This product is central to the company, being their first and foremost example of Ayurveda. The hair oil features ingredients such as castor oil, hibiscus flower extract, Brahmi extract, licorice root extract, and marigold extract. When tested, the oil was able to reduce shedding and give hair a soft texture as well as a long-lasting shine. To use the oil, you massage some into your scalp and hair itself, let it sit, then rinse it out while shampooing and conditioning like normal.
Dewy Lip Treatment
One of the newest products offered by the brand, the dewy lip treatment features lotus flower, rose, linoleic acid, and squalene. The balm is vegan, opening up its consumption to more customers. According to a clinical study, the balm can increase moisture in the lips by 114% for 8 hours using moisture lock technology. The final feature of this balm is a plumping effect to give lips a fuller effect with no stinging sensation.
1% Bakuchiol
Bakuchiol is a plant alternative to retinol, offering similar results for users with sensitive skin. This formulation includes a blend of squalene and peptides to help balance out skin while amla and saffron act as antioxidants to repair skin overnight. The product sets out to rejuvenate skin overnight, helping the consumer wake up to soft and fresh skin.
The Conclusion
Not much is out there about Indē Wild in the press. The company is relatively newer compared to some others in the Sephora Accelerate program, and will definitely gain traction once it finishes the six-month cycle. For now, the brand is great for users who want a holistic alternative to many products on the market, offering up affordable products rooted in ancient practices.
